What is CodexPet Nest?

CodexPet Nest is an open-source macOS desktop companion app that adds a floating nest overlay beside your Codex pet, along with widgets, usage monitoring, and local pet management.

How do I install CodexPet Nest?

Run npx codexpetxyz nest install in your terminal. The app installs to ~/Applications/CodexPet Nest.app. Requires macOS 14+ with Apple Silicon.

Is CodexPet Nest safe?

Yes. Nest does not modify the Codex app, inject code, upload prompts, or read your repositories. It only reads local pet position data needed to place the nest beside your pet.

Does CodexPet Nest support Windows?

The first release is macOS-only. Windows support is in planning — follow the GitHub repository for progress updates.

Currently for macOS

The first release is built for macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon. Windows support is possible, but it requires a separate desktop client because the current app uses native macOS APIs for the menu bar, transparent overlay window, and desktop positioning.
